Brutal

By Andrea Cohen

Brutal to give
the prisoner a window—
a blue sky glimpse—

as if an afterlife
existed. Brutal
for you to parade

in a body
in the same
room where I dream you.

If
By John Rybicki

(For Julie)
If I could tie a river around my love’s waist like ribbon,
make sails out of her blood
and pin down death like a squirming bug.

If I could lift and rock each coffin in my arms
I would start with hers.

story of my life

Daily Puppy of my Birthday, possible soulmate, destiny not coincidence...Oscar wait for me...

I really just want to disappear for awhile.

This song and the ones below it, are written and played by my very talented friend Tom. Give it a listen, he knows what he’s doing!

I love this Bukowski one, lots:

I recently received a four track from a friend who thought I could put it to good use.

Here is a song i made and used a reading of Charles Bukowski’s poem “About My Very Tortured Friend, Peter”

I haven’t completed editing but i’d love to hear any feedback regardless.

Another song I made with the four-track with an acoustic guitar, except this one I actually sang… I hate my voice so theres that.

I love my friends.

check this out?

I made this blog to get some of my art out and viewable to the interwebworld. I also made this blog for all other kinds of creative vomit like my poetry, and the poetry, art, music, movies, etc that I appreciate. I've never had a blog, so I'm somewhat of a n00b, but hopefully I'll catch on! Feel free to ask questions, give feedback (even harsh critiques on my art/writing...seriously I love that, you know as long as it's constructive), or even random conversations on seemingly irrelevant topics. I hope you always find a reason to smile. Namaste.
